Yup! That is right. Our site was hacked last week and the database corrupted and our website deleted and only an empty template was left there. This was a scary incident because it was such that for at least 1 day, I had no access to change or delete anything since the password to access the databases and the site were changed. We apologize to all those of you that might have checked out the site and found it missing and/or not working appropriately. But I am glad that my good friend Tony from Webtivations, my hosting provider, worked really closely with the administrators to get the database restored from the daily backups they do. I was freaking out on Friday evening because I thought I had lost the entire site, and since I hadn’t done a back up in months, I thought I may also loose all the information from the last 5-6 months. But a nice surprise was to find that Webtivations does daily backups of all the sites they host.
Even now, we are still working to ensure that this incident doesn’t happen again and in the next few days some changes will be implemented to make the site more secure, even though, this site does not retain any personal information from our clients or visitors. The security we are in the process of implementing is more to prevent someone accessing this site and changing content or deleting it. We appreciate your patience as we make Rosy’s Photography better than before.
