Well, it’s been a while since I posted any new content, but that is mostly because in my area, the winter months are a time where there are not very many events to do, but it’s no less busy with all the planning and tax prep that happens during this time of year. This past weekend I put together a lighting workshop for Spanish speaking wedding photographer and it was a great experience for me. I am really grateful for the opportunity to share some of what I know with others that are looking for ways to improve their photography through creative lighting. We also had the priviledge of Rudy Arpia giving a presentation about pricing, marketing, and his upcoming platform presentation at WPPI. We also had in attendance Jorge Torres of Photo & Video by Jorge, he is the president of the Hispanic Professional Photographers and Videographers Association (PPV-Chicago). The model for the class was Maggie, a good friend of mine that has helped me in several projects and was gracious enough to come out on a short notice and help with the class. The class was about how to use creative lighting techniques to create compelling images. This is the environment we were in,

But from inside this environment, and without changing anything in the environment, we learned how go from creating this type of an image,

to creating this type of an image, and all with 1 light.

Here are a few more images once we stepped outside into the cold, but click on the following link to get to the slideshow of some of the images of Maggie I created. Thanx Maggie, you were a great sport braving out the cold.
