WPPI 2009 in Review

I was going to do a post per day, but I decided to give a brief overview of what I did and learned at WPPI and share some of the images I captured.  First of all I had the privilege of attending classes with Marcus Bell, Rocco Ancora, Jerry Ghionis, Beth Forester, Bruce Dorn, and several others.  I attended 10 classes in all that ranged from marketing to cinematic lighting, to how to bring out natural expressions on people.  Of particular interest to me were the classes about senior portraiture and about cinematic lighting by Bruce Dorn.  I came away from those classes with so many ideas and techniques that I am having a blast just thinking of the ways I am going to implement that knowledge this year for my couples and seniors.  I also had the blessing of meeting some good friends like Rudy Arpia, Gloria Mesa, Mario Herrera, and others.  We even had a lighting seminar with Mario Herrera for the spanish speaking photographer from the Foro de Fotografos, and I even got the privilege of assisting Mario with one of the groups.  I don’t have a lot of pictures of the shoot we did with the model since I was trying to setup the shots and quiz the group as to how to light the model, but I did get a few.  In any case, here are a few images, but scroll down for a slideshow I put together.  Enjoy.
